IAEH Annual Forum: Networking and Knowledge-sharing in the Gold Coast
The third IAEH Annual Forum took place in the Gold Coast, Australia, alongside SportAccord, on Monday 6th May and included the AGM and Reception sponsored by BCW Sports Practice.
Kerry Petersen (Deputy Deputy Director General, Office of the Commonwealth Games) and Iain Edmondson (IAEH Director) delivered presentations on the immediate outcomes and legacy benefits of Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and on the Event Impact Standards project respectively. Both presentations and the 2018 GC Commonwealth Games post games report are available to download from the Resources page.
The meeting was chaired by Susan Sawbridge (IAEH Director, New Zealand Major Events) and involved 24 out of 35 active members. The key outcomes of the meeting were related to the work plan for 2019/2020 which was based on the result of the annual members’ survey. In 2019/2020 the IAEH will keep the focus on networking and knowledge-sharing by developing the Event Impact Standards project and promoting at least two other members’ meetings ideally in North America and in Europe.
Members also voted and approved the budget for the year ahead and the group of directors formed of: Alan Kidd, Iain Edmondson, Lars Lundov, Paul Bush, Perttu Pesä, Rick Traer, Stuart Turner and Susan Sawbridge.
