The Forum is the biggest and most important meeting on the IAEH’s calendar. Members in attendance received a summary of the Association’s activities  between April 2017 and April 2018. The attendees voted to elect directors for 2018/19 and agree on the budget for the year ahead. The meeting was followed by an open reception for members, prospective members and partners.

Annual Report

IAEH was formally incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee in September 2017. Since April 2017, IAEH has promoted three meetings exclusively for members and established partnerships to develop projects related to members’ key areas of interest. Election of Directors

Members in attendance voted and unanimously approved the current group of directors who have been managing the activities of the Association since its creation in 2016. The group of directors is mainly formed of IAEH founding members. In addition, Alan Kidd (National Association of Sports Commissions), Stuart Turner (Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development) and Tony Nagamaiah (Malaysia Major Events) had their nominations approved and will join the group of directors in 2018/19.

Plans for 2018/19

The IAEH will carry on with its work to support cities, regions and countries in bidding for and hosting major events focusing on knowledge sharing, networking and advocacy. In 2018/19, the IAEH plans to publish white papers, work with like-minded organisations to promote best practices and offer networking and training opportunities for its members.

The budget, membership structure and work plan for 2018/19 were unanimously approved by the members in attendance.
